How scoring works
Your track is overlaid on a grid whose cell size is calibrated to your boat's Portsmouth Yardstick number — faster boats (lower PY) get larger cells so that covering more water earns proportionally. The score is the number of cells visited Enclosed cells (fully surrounded by your track) count equally to visited cells, capped at 30% of visited cells.
The average speed over your fastest continuous 1-minute window, multiplied by your PY factor (PY ÷ 1000). This puts slower-rated boats on equal footing with faster ones — a high PY boat needs to sail proportionally faster to score the same.
Tacks, gybes, and mark roundings per hour. A 3-second sliding window checks whether the spread of GPS headings within it exceeds 45° — if so, a maneuver is counted and a short cooldown prevents double-counting. Sharp tacks and slow ones in light air are treated equally.
The fraction of the last 5 ISO weeks (ending with your most recent session) in which you completed at least one qualifying session. A perfect score means you sailed every week in that window — late joiners are not penalised.
Each dimension is normalised to 0–100 relative to the field, then averaged equally (25% each). Only your best 3 sessions count toward each dimension — every new upload can only improve your score, never lower it. Sessions must be at least 10 minutes long and your boat must have a Portsmouth Yardstick number to be eligible. Click any row in the leaderboard to see a full breakdown of your top sessions.
