Student Progress

Student Progress is a dashboard for comparing one or more students' sessions over time — a calendar of when they've been out, a trend chart of key performance metrics, and a filterable table of individual sessions. It's built on the same session data as a sailor's own Analysis View, just aggregated across sailors and time instead of one track at a time.

Linking with a student

Student Progress only shows sailors who have linked their account with you as a coach. From Account → Coaching, generate an invite link and share it with a student — one link can be reused for several students. Once a student accepts, they appear under My Students with their most recent upload date, and a View progress shortcut straight into their Student Progress view. A student can unlink at any time, which immediately removes their sessions from your view.

Filtering

The dashboard applies the same set of filters to the calendar, trend chart, and session table below it:

Students – select any number of your linked students to view side by side. With no selection made, everyone linked to you is shown by default.
Boat – narrow to sessions on one boat, drawn from the boats your selected students have actually sailed.
Location – narrow to one or more venues.
Wind strength – a range slider bounded by the wind speeds actually recorded across the selected students' sessions (for the chosen boat, if one is set).

Calendar

Shows the last 6 or 12 months of sessions. Each day is colored by wind strength, so patterns in how often — and in what conditions — a student sails are visible at a glance. Comparing more than one student switches the calendar to one lane per student, each in their own color, rather than merging everyone into a single grid; a student with no sessions in range still gets a labeled, empty lane.

Trend

A scatter chart of one performance metric over time, with a trend line fitted through it. Choose the metric from:

Upwind VMG
Downwind VMG
Reach speed
Avg tacking loss – average height lost per tack

When comparing multiple students, each gets its own colored series and trend line on the same chart, so improvement (or divergence) between students is easy to read directly.

Sessions

A sortable table of the individual sessions behind the calendar and trend chart, with wind, VMG, and tacking columns for each. Useful for jumping into a specific session's full analysis rather than only viewing it as one point on the trend chart.
